Harry Moore has decided to take his voice-over business to the next level by hiring contractor Diego Ramos to renovate his San Francisco loft into a state-of-the-art home office and recording studio.
They hit it off immediately and Harry is soon hoping to make their business relationship a little more personal, but Diego has responsibilities to consider before he can date anyone, especially a client.

About Jeff Adams
Jeff has written stories since he was in middle school and became a gay romance writer in 2009 when his first short stories were published. Since then he’s written several more short stories and novels, including some in the young adult genre, and he plans to keep writing as long as wonderful readers keeping picking up his books.
Jeff lives in rural Northern California with his husband of twenty years, Will. Some of his favorite things include the musical Rent, the Detroit Red Wings and Pittsburgh Penguins hockey teams, and the reality TV competition So You Think You Can Dance. If forced to pick his favorite book it would be a tie between Michael Chabon’s The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier & Clay and David Levithan’s Every Day.

Harry hires a building contractor to build a sound studio for his house. He does voice-overs like commercials, books, and animated characters. Diego is hired to do the construction work.The two click and both hope to take it to a more personal relationship. Harry has been burned in the past and demons resurface that he must deal with. Diego has couple of responsibilities that must be considered as well-most importantly- that he doesn't date clients.
This is a super short book that was a joy to read! Jeff Adams did a great job of giving us an intriguing plot and developing Harry and Diego's chemistry in a short book! He made me feel what they were and that's a gift. I loved how tender and thoughtful each man was. I thoroughly enjoyed reading about them and would love to read more!

A Sound Beginning by Jeff Adams is a short story. This is my first non-Simon/Alex book by Jeff–and I loved it! So very sexy and steamy!

Harry does voice overs for commercials, audiobooks etc. Having his own studio could cause a boost in his career and do away with the hassle of running all over town for his jobs. A highly recommended contractor was ready to start. What wasn't expected was the handsome owner to be doing the work.
Diego feels the same attraction to Harry as Harry does to him. They both think it would be a better plan to wait to start anything until Diego is no longer being paid for the work. Can they wait that long? Will it be worth it?
A Sound Beginning is a quick romantic little read. It had good flow, no real conflict, was an easy read.
